What a high-converting funnel looks like
Five stages, each with one job, and each one handing the prospect to the next.
A funnel is not a landing page. It is the whole path from a stranger’s first glance to their second purchase.
The ones that convert don’t ask for everything at once. Each stage asks for a little more than the last, and only once the one before it has earned the right.

The top of the funnel (TOFU) is awareness: an ad, a post or a search result that reaches people who have never heard of you. It asks for nothing more than a click.

The middle of the funnel (MOFU) is consideration: a free guide, quiz, webinar or challenge in exchange for an email, then the emails that keep the conversation going.

The bottom of the funnel (BOFU) is the decision: the sales page, the call or the checkout, shown to people ready to hear a price.
Funnels that underperform usually skip a step. They show a BOFU offer to a TOFU audience, or they capture an email and then say nothing until the pitch.
A high-converting funnel matches every asset to where the prospect is, and makes each handoff feel like the obvious next step. It doesn’t stop at the sale, either: retention is where a customer becomes a repeat buyer.
On this site the three parts become five stages. Attract is TOFU, Capture and Nurture are MOFU, Sell is BOFU, and Retain comes after the sale.
Here is one funnel we went through end to end, ClickFunnels’ One Comma Club challenge, stage by stage.
- 01 · TOFU
Attract
Get the right stranger to stop scrolling.

AdRussell Brunson to camera: “Wanna make your first $1,000 online?” One ad for a free challenge, live for three months. - 02 · MOFU
Capture
Trade something free for a name and an email.

Webinar registration pageA long letter with a countdown and a dozen identical buttons, all for a free five-day challenge. - 03 · MOFU
Nurture
Build trust until the offer feels like the next step.

EmailThirteen days of email, three a day while the challenge runs: a tease, “we’re live”, and a replay with its own deadline. - 04 · BOFU
Sell
Make the offer once the prospect is ready for it.

Checkout/order formThe Funnel Builder Certification: a $997 deposit, then $4,500, with the bonus stack growing in every email. - 05 · After the sale
Retain
Turn a buyer into a repeat buyer.

Email · illustrationOnboarding, the first win, the next offer. We stop at the checkout, so no funnel here shows this stage yet. This email is our own example.
Funnel ideas for every kind of business
Find a funnel that already works in your market, and see every step of it.
Most funnel ideas come from someone else’s funnel. The hard part is seeing one end to end: the ad, the opt-in, the emails and the offer, in the order a real prospect meets them.
That is what this gallery is for. Pick the kind of business you run and browse the funnels companies like yours use right now, from B2B lead generation to ecommerce product launches.
